Self-Skipper Charter – Conditions & Legal Requirements
In the event that the Charterer requests to operate the vessel as self-skipper, this shall be permitted only subject to full compliance with Greek maritime law, Port Authority regulations, and the following mandatory conditions, which apply without exception:
1. Licensing
The Charterer must hold a valid and officially recognized motorboat license, compliant with Greek legislation and appropriate for the vessel’s length, engine power, and navigation area.
The license must be presented in original form prior to embarkation and approved by the Company.
2.Experience
The Charterer must provide documented and verifiable evidence of prior experience operating RIB or motor vessels of similar or greater size and performance, including a minimum of three (3) completed charters.
The Company reserves the right to request references or additional proof of experience.
3.Age Requirement
The Charterer acting as skipper must be no less than thirty (30) years of age at the time of embarkation.
4.Assessment & Approval
Final approval of the self-skipper option is subject to the Company’s discretionary assessment, including on-site evaluation if required.
Should the Company determine that the Charterer’s qualifications or experience are insufficient for safe navigation, the Company retains the absolute right to impose the use of a professional skipper, in compliance with safety and Port Authority requirements.
5.Security Deposit
A security deposit of EUR 2,000 is mandatory, payable by credit or debit card (Visa, Maestro, Mastercard) only, prior to departure.
The deposit serves as a guarantee against damage, negligence, loss of equipment, violations of maritime regulations, or insurance excess, and shall be handled in accordance with the Charter Agreement.

The Company reserves the unrestricted right to refuse the self-skipper option at any time prior to or during embarkation if legal, safety, or operational requirements are not fully met.
In such case, the appointment of a professional skipper shall be mandatory and non-negotiable, and the corresponding fee shall apply.
